Initiative C.B.T are proud to have sponsored a team in the Alex's Wish charity fundraiser football tournament, it was a great event that raised lots of funds for a very good cause, and we were very proud to be a part of it. to top it off the guys that played in the team even after a set back of losing there goalkeeper due to unforeseen circumstances due to the hot weather, and a mix up in the first game meaning they were two men down for the first 5 minutes, they managed to do very well finishing 3rd in there group of 5 teams, and having the winner of the whole tournament in there group as well. they came out of it holding their heads high with some really brilliant football being played at times. There were some brilliant saves by the goalkeeper, and some excellent passes and finishing too. Considering the average age for the team was 40+ and the average age of the other teams in the group were around 28 they certainly did not look like slouches, and showed why they came to the tournament.

There were many moments I could report on but two moments really stand out. One was in the first half of the second game where a through ball was played between two of the defending teams players to an initiative F.C player, and the attacker used his pace to get hold of the ball beyond the last defender, this move went from the left hand side of the pitch to the right hand side, and the attacker slotted it past the goalkeeper low and hard to the goalkeepers right hand side.

A second move came straight from the goalkeeper he rolled it to the closest player to him on the left of the edge of his area to which the player seen one of his men on the right wing close to the oppositions goal. He played a cross field ball pin point to the initiative F.C attacker and with a delicate touch with his right foot he placed the ball to his left into space and struck it with his left foot straight into the top corner to the keepers left, to which one spectator said ow my goodness that was delicious football.

Thanks to the team for naming the team after us (Initiative F.C.)

All in all a great day out with some excellent football played well done!!
